a piece of Caruth Haven

There are stereotypes in relation to custmers and their drinks at starbucks. Caramel frappuccino for high school girls, black coffee for the business and working class types, soy chai for the earthy folk, and either highly complicated or simplistic drinks from store partners. The list continues.
From the beloved Ethiopian community comes the "tall no foam latte...extra hot." Dallas starbucks and the Rabbi know where I am coming from.
This weekend, from a New England crowd of customers came the call, "excuse me, make my tall latte with no foam". Looking up to acknowledge the request, there was before me the unforgetable features of an Ethiopian woman. I became excited, feeling the familiarity of home, and of the same requested drink for this brief moment. We had good converation. Reggae mondays with Kasai don't stop.
